Mogadon Facts
Do you have your opinion, I always considered that the memory was not reliable - a sand changing submission and blurred vision - and a recent visit to the shop. The bargains confirmed my diagnosis. I was shopping for instant cappuccinos (my sweet papillae are an ambitious middle class, but my wallet can not save them) when a 60-year-old woman shouted, "Alan, it's you!" She m greeted me with a certainty and gave me a hug. She smelled mints, nicotine and Britain's Got Talent. I was flummoxed but - against my own will - instantly out in autopilot. I smiled with concern and asked, "How is the family?" While she laughed at getting a new ring and changing jobs, I was desperately trying to place her. She said she almost did not recognize me in costume. I pulled out and, God, I grabbed his hand briefly to suggest that his anecdote was so amusing that it had deprived me of speaking. I was torn between the urge to end the mockery and overwhelming fear of making a mistake and hurting someone's feelings - even the feelings of a potential alien. She kept remembering - like a gray and permanent Terminator, she would just not be arrested - feasting with places, life events and people that seemed family but not enough to be sure. It was like trying to identify someone through the opaque glass - I could say it was human, but beyond that, it was only a form - could be Kate Middleton, could be Mrs. Brown. I went through pictures of relatives, friends and distant associates while she was talking about going to Asda with Jimmy. "You remember Jimmy, did not you, Alan?" I suddenly thought - I'm bound to this woman - coming back absurd to her repeated use of my name and absolute certainty as proof. Then she asked, "How's Briony?"
